Wireless Networking at Oklahoma City University
Overview

Oklahoma City University strives to provide and support a pervasive computing environment to enhance the teaching and learning goals of the university. As part of this mission, Campus Technology Services provides wireless network coverage in the majority of buildings and common areas on campus. Access is provided for students, faculty and staff as well as limited access for university guests.

Provided here is information regarding wireless access at OCU and how to get connected.

Getting Connected

  1. Make sure your computer or handheld device is equipped with an 802.11b/g wireless network adapter and all the latest drivers have been installed.
  2. If you have not done so already, configure your wireless settings by following the instructions found at appropriate link below:

    Windows XP Wireless Network Configuration
    Windows Vista Wireless Network Configuration
    Macintosh OSX Wireless Network Configuration
    Pocket PC Wireless Network Configuration
    Guest Access

  3. Make sure you are located in a wireless hotspot on campus and that your wireless antennae is enabled. If you have a good signal and your wireless has been configured properly, you should be able to connect to OCU’s wireless network.
  4. Open a web browser window where you will see the wireless login page. Enter your OCU username and password.
  5. Congratulations! You now have access to OCU’s wireless network.
